Originally I didn't even want to reply to this, for one I bought my Flex at 29k and got an extended warranty, so whatever with the whole mileage thing.Caught what? No one measures run out on a rotor without a complaint from the customer
When I had my brakes checked back in August, they should have caught it then, but clearly they do half their work.
The issue here is when I talked to them about my brakes, they told me the pads were fine, but there was warping with the rotors, I found that odd since it'd take some intense heating and cooling to warp it and I wasn't driving my Flex hard at all and was actually taking it in to go on a long drive during a hotter summer than usual and was looking to get stuff done to sort it out.
So when I talked to them, they were very wishy-washy about it, because Ford has screwed me several times with their dealerships service department, I've gone into detail about it and switched already, then the new place was starting to do lazy work as well - Like after a regular maintenance (fluids etc) they didn't put the cover under the car on properly and a ton of pebbles and debris got under there and started to make a lot of noise, I went to a different Ford Dealership that was near my work and they showed me what it was, I was quite pissed.
Then the one that I regularly go to that did that whole bs, broke the clip to my cabin filter cover and then denied breaking it, which I know is a flat out lie because there was the year before when they put in the filter that they forgot to put the plug back in for the glove box that soft opens, I told them about it and the clip was perfectly fine on it then as I looked inside there and was just curious what the cabin filter was so I can do more of this myself like I did with all of my other cars, so I opened it carefully like normal, like I have with literally a dozen cars I've owned in my life so far, took a picture of the filter and orientation for my own record when I was planning to do it myself next time and that was it. So when I forgot to tell them to avoid doing the filters as I was going to do it myself, they did them both and this year when I went to change them, I noticed the clip was snapped off. Oh and then there was that recall for some sensor or another, where it made my car go all wonky with limiting the speed and a whole bunch of other stuff, I took my flex in, they had me wait as they stated it'd be quick, so 2hrs, I am bored out of my mind wandering around to every damn vehicle at the dealership and they go its done and ready, I get in and oh hey same issue - the tech advisor tells me they forgot to actually switch the part - which I was like so you had my car for 2hrs, had me wait, did a bunch of work and somehow didn't do the literal 1 thing I came in for?
Oh hmm..what else. Oh right, the brakes. They later told me the rotors weren't warped when I asked them about it again as I told them is there still an issue there (after already taking it in to get them to look at it when it initially happened) and they were telling me the pads had stuck to the rotor and was shuddering and they fixed that. Which again, not true. I then finally had it and my warranty expired and I was done with piss poor service, took the Flex to local mechanic that a few of my friends go to and he showed me the warping and that it should have been suggested as a fix sooner instead of telling you it was the brake pads breaking off on them.
So I got them changed to drilled and slotted rotors, new brake calipers, etc. Works 100x better than the OEM garbage that I had on it earlier.
Listen, maybe some of you are Ford tech's, cool, maybe you're one of the many good ones out there, too bad I didn't get to have you guys service my damn flex. I take care of my cars like you wouldn't believe, having OCD, I am very meticulous about my car as it drives me nuts when something is off, the amount of times I had these guys lie to me and then tell me it was something else only to come back and tell me it wasn't that or it's something entirely different, it's frustrating.
Also at first they told me the rotors would be under warranty still which I was like, ok? I didn't ask them if the brakes were because why would they be? But then they stated it wasn't and I was frustrated with them not being 100% on their info before telling me, not the first time with them.
I love the car, not so much the service department. I still am still a little angry at the initial crap with the body panels, blower under the passenger seat, and the radiator mount that Keywest ford in New West told me was "normal Flex stuff out of the factory" and that the blower was fine when it was quite literally malfunctioning while I was with them. All to avoid doing actual work that was under warranty - which btw, it was for those issues that the one I went to after, fixed completely and then that advisor left and it's been a gong show since.
I did complain. I told them to look into the brakes and rotors that something sounded and felt off when I hit the brakes. I am aware of how it works, especially with dealing with some of the service advisors at the service department.Caught what? No one measures run out on a rotor without a complaint from the customer

In any case, it's whatever at this point. It took a lot of work to get this Flex to the way it should be after I got it from the dealership, it was used, but I was so focused on the engine inspection by a mechanic I knew that I didn't look at the other things like the body panels, etc and the blower in the passenger seat was something I found out after about, but in any case, it's now running the way it should, better than that even and it's perfectly fine now and in fantastic working order. I still have barely 68,000 kms on it from getting it back in 2020-ish.
