In chasing my fuel mileage drop, a seemingly intelligent guy suggested perhaps my 200K old fuel pumps may need replacing. Hmmm, it looks like there are no screen filters to replace on the in-tank pumps, at least we can't find any available.
Does it make sense that clogged filters would aid in a mileage drop?
One post here, indicated the potential for the need to cut a hole in the floor above one of the two pumps for removal, really?
About $400 gets 2 new pumps, not sure their needed, I'm thinking maybe FORScan can tell me the duty cycle of the variable speed pumps that may indicate a problem.
Anybody have knowledge about this?
thx SCG
