Hi. Second Flex for me. 2014 LTD AWD. I plugged an appliance into the passenger cig lighter and left it. Thought it turned off with the car. Wrong. Drained the battery, tried to start it, 4 cranks and then solenoid clicking. Hooked up the jump box, fired right up....but the backlights on the Sony Climate/Radio console didn't come on. Tried to use the touchpad to control the climate. Radio/Nav sections work fine, but the climate controls on the touchpad only make that beep when touched, but do nothing. All the other controls on the touchpad work fine. Then I noticed that the heat, on the floor, was blowing at max volume.
Ahh...blown fuse from the battery dying. Checked number 9, checked number 46. Both passed visual and continuity test. But the heat and blower are off when I pull number 46. Oh, ok, at least I can get it to the mechanic without making a pot roast of myself. Nope. Blue blinking light (security?) is going mad and i am getting 6 horn beeps/reports. Stop, re-install fuse in 46, blower and heat back on, still no response or lights on Sony Climate console.
Normally, I'd jump on E-Bay and grab a new console and put it in, but I am not sure because of how the missing fuse affects other systems. So, why not add a level of complexity?
I've been chasing a CEL for the fuel system for 2 months now. First it was the vapor purge valve under the hood. Replaced it. Next CEL was the Vapor Purge Canister over the gas tank. Replaced it. Then next CEL was the fuel door gasket/assembly. Replaced it. CEL is back on and reporting the Vapor Purge valve under the hood, which is not only OEM new, but I removed the hose and there was plenty of vacuum, so it is in fact operational, which means I have a ghost. yeah, I see you shaking your head...I'm thrilled too.
Before I drop $350 on a used Sony Climate Module, I am concerned that the real culprit is a failing ECU or that I need to have the memory flashed/reloaded. Anyone out on the nets who has experienced this and has a silver bullet for me to try, lets here it, I do NOT want to go to a dealer and blow my holiday budget if i can avoid it.
