Suspension, Wheels & Tires • Re: Front end clunk

I've wondered often if the subframe mounting bushings could be the culprit on my front end noises. It would seem obvious these are simple enough in design and use but what else can you do to check these besides just applying a torque wrench to them?

At 177K the light clunking and creeking noises are heard when going over small sharp bumps and really creeks going over speed bumps. And my front lower control arm components have never been changed, it's time.

Just replaced all engine, transmission and torque rods along with the dreaded waterpump and timing chain and guides.

From what I can gather our fourm members recommend OE components for suspension parts over even premium aftermarket components.
