Hello to all, and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
I have tried researching and reading many threads and posts regarding blend doors, but cannot seem to find the exact answer I am looking for.
I have a 2010 Flex Limited with the SYNC system ... climate controls on touch screen and also manual controls located in dash down below.
My issue is that I have no heat getting to the driver's side. The windshield defroster, floor and dash vents all blow cold on the driver's side, while the passenger side blows warm/hot as usual. The A/C works fine for both sides ... only having issues when temps are set to warm or hot ...
I am also experiencing what I can only describe as a "knocking" sound for about 5-8 seconds when the climate controls are engaged. It sounds like it is coming from behind the glove box or from the passenger side of the dashboard ...
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I read that these cars have three separate blend doors ... one just to the right of the accelerator pedal behind the console, one behind the radio, and one behind the glove box. I am trying to figure out which one would be the culprit in this scenario.
The "knocking" sound would lead me to believe it is the one behind the glovebox, but I also believe I read that one controls another function, and not hot/cold distribution.
Anyone who can enlighten and/or educate me so I am not throwing money at the wrong part and labor, I would much appreciate the help ...
