OK final thoughts here.
My oemxenonshop.com projectors came in and they in a D1S configuration, which is to say the alignment notches between the D3S and D1S housings are different... The physical attributes are all the same, even has the 3 holes for the Black Plastic Bezel our Fords need.
I had to use a rotary Dremel tool and cut away a small notch (shown at 45 Degrees) to replicate the D1S notch. The D3S notch is shown at the 3 O'clock position. The notch only needs to be about 0.100 wide and approx. 0.100 deep as shown.
This will allow for perfect fitment, alignment and securing of the bulb in the D1S bulb bracket as OE intended.
So $185 gets a pair of clear lens AL-Bosch E46 style projectors BUT in a D1S format.
As for bulbs, I'm now thinking either OSRAM 66340-XN2 Night Breakers 220, or the OSRAM 66340-CBB (Cool Blue Boost). As stated earlier, I put in a pair of OSRAM 66340-CBI (Cool Blue Intense) they gave me that nice Bluish tint light output but lost forward lighting.
