My washer pump stopped working. Today, I replaced it with a new aftermarket pump. Refilled it, and on the first run, once it started pumping I saw a little water come out the front pushing the front button, and a lot of water out the back pushing the back button. Life was good for 10 seconds.
On second try, when hit the front spray, water comes out the back. When I push the rear spray, water comes out the back. I disconnected the front line under the hood and when I push the front spray, only the back comes out. Under the hood I put a pair of vise grips on the back line to pinch it off, in hopes of purging the front line, but nothing comes out the front. It's above freezing so I'm positive nothing is frozen. Under the hood I put a little compressed air down the front line, and it comes out in the tank, so I know the line is not blocked.
I'm assuming this is a bad replacement pump? I'm assuming the washer pump controls the front or back spray based on the electrical signal it receives. Or is there something wrong with the controls in the turn signal? Any ideas?
