So my rear diff is making a grinding noise. Came quick, from no noise to a grinding roar in about 2 weeks. Thought it was a wheel bearing so I changed the one I thought was the problem but the noise was unchanged. After I jacked up all 4 wheels and put it in drive I could hear the diff making noise and feel it. I did change the fluid about 2 years ago and it wasn't leaking. I had to drive around 5 miles yesterday and I thought I could smell burnt clutch smell.
I found a used one with 35k on it for about $430 so went ahead and purchased it. I ordered seals ($70) and figured I'd change the other wheel bearing well.
Doesn't look too difficult and probably the most difficult part is taking off the wheel bearings. Anyone change theirs out?
