In particular HID Bi-Xenon Projector type lighting performance.

Been researching the components of our HID projector systems.

Recently I swapped out my 10 year old HID bulbs for some 5500K bulbs to get that cool blue tint, got it but, it looks like I lost forward lighting. And yes I know the farther away from the 4300K color you lose lumens.

I started looking at the overall system components. My research shows that the glass projector lens can go "cloudy" over time as well as the reflectors.

Has anyone dug deep into this condition and have they found our lenses and reflectors need cleaning?

One video I found shows cleaning both with Isopropyl Alcohol and the results looked pretty impressive. He also polished the outside housings, mine look pretty good probably won't do this, but cleaning the lens and reflecting surface kinda makes sense.

Yes the housing is sealed real well but, with the high temperatures inside these housings, I could see the possibility of hazing or cloudiness in such an environment.

Thoughts ?
