Okay. It's been months, I know.
I feel bad because I have two or three different people waiting on me to make some kind of forward progress with this. There's progress, for sure. But man, how did six months fly past since I started this redesign?
I honestly don't know what's taking me so damn long.
I have a design that I'm happy with (we've heard that one before, haven't we?).
I've recorded the installation process to make a series of youtube videos showing how it's done.
I've recorded the narration to place over the video.
But I keep starting over. I've recorded the installation four times. I've narrated maybe 30 times by now.
It's always something slowing me down. Winter. Switch to a better microphone. Incorrect windshield. Hate the sound of my voice. Switch to a better camera setup. Finding incorrect information during editing. April bonus winter. Slipped on snow and spilled all the primer. Trying different cameras. Out-of-state work. Trying a different primer because I didn't like how the first looked.
Right now the first video is 95% done, just need to record an outro and add some background music and.... I hate it. I sound like a robot. It's a huge infodump right at the beginning. Nobody wants to watch that, but it's all relevant to understand why this is more complex than any other Ford. It's too long, yet rushes through too many parts.
It'll get done. I can reuse most of the assets, and the 3D models are pretty much finalized, but some minor changes to the video will push the howto back.
Here's the installed design as of this past weekend. I know there's a little blemish where I missed with the primer, but it can't be fixed without starting completely over. It'll have to do, because I'm not starting over unless I have to. It still looks bad in direct sunlight but there's absolutely nothing I can do about that -- it's the fault of the aftermarket windshield.
