Re: Owner of a 2011 Ford Flex Eco-boost living in Calgary (3420 ft above sea level) with hard brake pedal.

HELP - SURELY SOMEONE HAS FIXED THIS PROBLEM IN THE LAST 8 YEARS !!

I've had the same problem for a few years but it never bothering me because I parked inside overnight. Now that my car sits outside anything below 0 Celcious makes the brake pedal very hard (I mean superman strength) hard to push. I've owned many classics cars WITHOUT power brakes and this is 10x harder to stop than them. Letting the car idle for even 20 minutes doesn't solve it. It actually has to be driving 5-10 minutes with at least 5 stomps on the brake pedal to "free it up". The ABS will absolutely not come on no matter how hard you push the pedal because you can't actually get the tires to lock up it is so hard to push.

Can anyone confirm whether OASIS 5441 or part number AA5Z-9C490-B as mentioned earlier solves this problem? Or did someone find another fix, such as maybe the factory brake fluid is contaminated with water so anything cold partially freezes it?

Thanks, eh!
I’m having the same issue with my 2011 SEL Ecoboost. Did you find a solution? My daily symptoms went away after replacing the vacuum manifold but major failures with hard pedal and zero stopping power just resurfaced.
