Finished installing my new HID bulbs and fog light bulbs. Took just about 1.5 hours to complete with just a little help from my buddy. I did do it "properly" by pulling off the front facia, thanks all for the inputs.
I installed a pair of European OSRAM HID Bulbs p/n 66340CBI (Cool Blue Intense). Research shows these are about 20% brighter than OE and will have a slight Bluish tint, box reads "up to 5500K" where as OE is 4300K.
Since I was this deep into the front facia, I decided to also replace the Foglight Projector bulbs as well. Research showed Headlight Revolution did a comparison with the OSRAM Bulbs and are selling a XenonDepot H11 LED CMB (Color Matching Bulb) that should replicate the 5500K real close, and their very reasonable priced, I choose the 5000K option over the 6000K option.
Final thoughts: I broke several fingers off the center plastic grill component, just unavoidable as far as I can tell, good news is, 4 fingers holds it well enough. The 3 push-lock pins in the bottom lip all broke taking them off, just wouldn't release properly, AutoZone here I come.
I researched the hell out of which bulbs to purchase, the current offerings online ranged from the Morimoto HID XDs at $90 to OSRAMs current HID offerings 66340CBA (Cool Blue Advanced) at $165 and others even more expensive. I took the chance on an eBay buy(gulp), got the OSRAM HID CBI models for $40 a pair ! The ad read properly, my correspondence with the seller said these were "genuine" so I took the chance, they sure look real, box and bulbs.
So for around $100 I have a new forward lighting system. Awaiting evening now to see what we got, fingers crossed![🤞]()
