There will be others to respond but I'll start. The Flex didn't get many updates at all. The differences exist mainly in the trim lines. Limited is going to have the most options in it. The infotainment system has some differences with each trim level but there weren't many upgrades on it in the 10 years that it was made. I honestly think they marketed it to the wrong demographic and they might have sold a lot more if they did it differently. They sold roughly 300,000 of them in the entire 10 years it was made.
There is an all wheel drive version. I have an SEL which is the middle trim line. It has all wheel drive. I've driven several and I like the SEL all wheel drive the most. I like the way it feels when you drive it. I have driven it in the mountains in the winter (in the snow) and have never had any issues with it. It's great in the rain. I live in an area that gets nasty wind storms and it's one of the only vehicles on the road that doesn't get thrown around. I think a lot of it is the shape of it.
There is also a Titanium package and an appearance package. They are similar but were made in different years. I believe the only real difference with those and the regular ones is the way they look. They have black accents on the outside of the car that the other ones don't have and the interior is also different. The seats are a 2 tone dark grey/charcoal grey color. Those have a different steering wheel and the the interior (doors etc) are also dark. I'm pretty sure these come with 20 inch wheels too and the rims are black.
The ecoboost is a turbocharged, direct-injection gasoline engine. It will go a lot faster than your typical motor but from what I've read they get better gas mileage.
Not too bad for a middle age lady who has never worked on cars. It's a great vehicle. They are amazing to drive. I'm sure some of the guys here will be able to give you a different perspective just because their males but that's my take from a gal who loves the Flex.
