so apparently I need a new engine and turbos, loooong story, but my Flex hates me for stupid high idling hours.
Stealership tried to ream me, even charging a 20-60% premium OVER their own parts center published price-list for nearly every part, and at one time factoring labor at $40/hr over their rate. It was the most egregious s**t I had ever seen from a dealership, and thats saying something.
So I have a independent shop that for the most part I trust working up a new estimate and I have been looking around working on getting a ball park number to compare theirs too.
I know there is a lot of variables, but do folks have any input on this? I already got the estimate from KBB.com and they have to do the two repairs separately, but they added up to $10.2k-$10.9k
incidentally, the ford dealership initially came in at over $15k (5.2k labor/9.9k parts) and after I called them out on blatant issues they revised it to $13.6k (4.3k labor/9.3k parts)
Thoughts?
