Hi, I have a 2009 select front wheel drive that did not come with a towing package. I added a CURT class three hitch a few years ago and up until this point have just pulled a tiny boat around. I'm renting a big Lift trailer to paint my house and it weighs about 4800 pounds. The weight limit of the hitch itself is 5000 pounds being a class three hitch but I'm wondering if I will kill my flex if I try and tow this trailer it will only be on surface roads probably more than 40 mph and about 10 miles total. If I do rent a pick up truck instead to get the trailer home, I'll need to move the thing around in my yard which I plan on using the flex for that. Has anybody pulled this much weight with a FWD?
