Hello! Found a leak in my A/C system that required some new o-rings. No biggie. But everything i am researching and everyone I have spoken with tells me it is important to replace the receiver/drier desiccant anytime the system has been opened to the outside air, completely drained or components replaced, etc. I have a non-turbo version, and i see that the desiccant is housed in the tube on the side of the condenser.
My question for the community is what is the best way to access the header (screw in plug) to be able to replace the desiccant bag??? Is there some kind of secret way to access it without having to completely tear apart the front end, bumper cover and all??? I would think that since the desiccant bag is meant to be a routine service change item after so many years, surely they would have made this somewhat accessible.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
