This may belong in 'Suspension, Wheels & Tires' but I thought I might get a better response here. I own a 2014 SEL (best vehicle I've ever owned). I've had the brakes done twice, after which the brake pedal acted as if they were not bled. Could push it right to the floor.
A dealership did the first job; replaced front calipers, pads & rotors all around, and (at my request) flushed the brake fluid. The pedal was so bad I never made it out of their parking lot. After a protracted battle and two more trips into their shop the pedal was perfect, like brand new.
A few years passed and last week my trusted mechanic replaced pads & rotors. Once again I could push the pedal to the floor. They took it back in and bled the brakes while activating (my word) the antilock system but once again the pedal is total crap. The pedal wasn't the greatest when I brought it in, but at least it would stiffen when pumped. Now even when I pump the brakes the pedal does not get stiff. They will try again this week. Nothing in these Forums leads me to believe this is a known issue.
Has anyone else had this problem, or heard about this being an issue? My mechanic is no slouch but maybe one of you folks can help.
Apologies for the long post.
