I have a 2010 Ford flex. A few years ago the lift gate motor stopped working. When I disassembled the motor I found a circular magnet had broken into pieces. I ended up just removing the lift gate rod and only used it manually. The past week I decided to finally buy a "new" lift gate motor. Since Ford doesn't sell them, and there are no aftermarket ones, I bought one off eBay. The seller sold me a piece of crap that didn't work and, after disassembling, I found it rusted internally, and all the gears and bearings were seized. I ended up removing the one round magnet I needed, since it wasn't rusted, and using that. Now the lift gate opens and closes automatically, but I cannot close it , manually. It seems the motor, or rod, is preventing it from closing manually, but it will close if I press the button. Anyone have this issue, or know if this can be fixed? I don't want to buy another $200 salvaged motor that might not work. Thanks!
