That looks familiar. When I purchased my '17 over a year ago it had 116k. Opened up the PTU and black oooze dripped out. I flushed it with gear oil three times and got some, not all of the gunk moving. Over the next two oil changes I repeated the flushing and each time the fluid came out clearer. Now I'm making it a regular procedure to just refill the PTU once a year. The rear diff was thick black goo but not as bad as the front. I just check it at oil changes.
I had my local shop do the timing chain, water pump, valve covers etc and they did a trans fluid change. (Not a FLUSH) I've heard too many bad stories about how a complete flush will unloose the demons of dirt and make a trans go south in short time.
