Powertrain / Under The Hood • The Dreaded Wrench

So, mt 2014 Ford Flex SEL wouldn't stay started, so I pulled the error code and I had an P0627 OBD code which indicated that I needed to replace the fuel pump module. So I ordered one off of Amazon and it was relatively easy to replace. It was an aftermarket one though and not an OEM.

Once it was changed, I tried to start the car and I had a dead battery. I left the doors open all day waiting for the Amazon delivery while I worked outside, which was dumb. So I jumped the car and everything was back to normal. And the OBD reader gave me an all clear. No errors.

However, then a wrench came on the display and said "See Manual". According to the manual, the wrench indicates:

"Powertrain malfunction/reduced power (RTT)
Illuminates when a powertrain or an AWD fault has been detected. Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible."

I came here for a second opinion, but I don't think this is a powertrain issue. The powertrain was never a problem until that module was replaced. And there are no OBD codes being generated. It's "all clear".

I think it's more of a "reduced power" issue. The start of the problem was that P0627 code which is that module sending bad codes to the vehicle regarding reduced voltage. It might be a defective module that I need to replace again with an actual OEM one. The other possible culprit might be the dead battery issue since that also directly affects the proper voltage being utilized. Maybe check the cells for water or even replace the battery.

Thoughts?
