Hi, I'm new to this forum and to car repairs and maintenance in general. I have a 2019 Flex Ltd Ecoboost. Some of the fasteners for my under cover have broken. When I had my last oil change done from my local econolube they used zip ties to secure the under cover.
I'm in Canada and Ford parts just quoted me $26 per part if it's the rear bolts that need replacing (sorry if bolts is an incorrect term) or $330 for the front bolts because they only come with a replacement under cover. I'm don't want to spend that much if there's a cheaper alternative.
So, I've been searching this forum to see what other people have done. Please advise me...
1. Do I continue to hope Econolube doesn't mind using zip ties each time I get an oil change?
2. Do I find the bolts cheaper elsewhere for Econolube to use? Where should I order them from in Canada?
3. If the under cover has actual damage to it (more than just needing a bolt replaced), do I buy a new under cover? Does my flex Ecoboost even need the under cover?
Thx!
